Bridging cryptocurrency is like using a special service to move your tokens between blockchains. Since each blockchain (like The Root Network or Ethereum) works separately, you can’t send tokens directly from one to another. A bridge lets you lock up your coins on one blockchain and create a version of them on another so you can use them there.

If you have tokens on the Ethereum blockchain and want to bridge them over to The Root Network, or vice versa, follow these steps to do so:

Login to your FuturePass and click ‘Stuff’ at the bottom of your navigation bar.

Click on your ‘Tokens’ tab and then click ‘Bridge’ to open up the bridging interface.

Select the token you wish to bridge and enter the desired amount.

Ensure you are bridging your tokens from and to the correct networks. You can confirm the networks are correct by reviewing the network segment highlighted in red below.

If bridging from Ethereum to The Root Network, you will first need to confirm the spending cap in your wallet (usually the amount you wish to bridge). This will incur a small gas fee.

Now click ‘Approve’ and sign with your wallet to initiate the bridge transaction.

Once the transaction has been approved, you can view it in the ‘Activity’ tab. Please wait 15 minutes for bridging to complete, after which you can view your updated balance in the ‘Tokens’ tab.

If you are bridging from Ethereum to The Root Network, the tokens will automatically be available in your FuturePass once the bridging process has completed.

If you are bridging from The Root Network to Ethereum, you will need to claim your tokens from the Activity tab once the bridge has completed. This will incur a small gas fee.

Congratulations! If you followed the steps you should have successfully your tokens. Please allow 15 minutes for the bridge to complete.
